The Valeth Group has come a long way since its founder Peter P Valeth established a small-scale enterprise focussed on ablative material in 1990. Today, it’s a world-class organisation led by a new generation of leaders who continue its pioneering legacy.
Under its Aerospace and Defence division, Valeth Defence manufactures hardware for defence systems, Valeth Materials produces aerospace grade composites, and Valeth Boatyard builds boats for coastal defence, border security and law enforcement. The Group has also recently launched Valeth Yachts, a lifestyle brand that caters to global customers seeking high-quality luxury yachts.
With three manufacturing facilities in India, Valeth is continuously developing technology through innovation & expanding our product portfolio in the process.
The Valeth Group was established in 1990 in Chennai to manufacture silica fabric under licence from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The success of ISROSIL, the product we developed with ISRO, inspired us to diversify into manufacturing a wide variety of raw materials, components, and complete systems for organisations in the space, aviation, defence and marine sectors.
Over the years, we have had the privilege to develop advanced products like rocket engines for space and defence agencies, highly specialised ablatives such as silica tiles for Indian Space Research Organisation, and sea faring vessels for the Indian Navy.
Today, we are among the leading companies in the defence and aerospace industry with a strong track record in R&D. Our capacity to take products from development to serial production make us one of the preferred manufacturers in the field.

Peter Valeth is the Founder and Chairman of the Group, providing strategic leadership across its diversified business portfolio. He plays a pivotal role in steering the Boat Division and continues to be actively involved in its growth and innovation.
As the driving force behind the organisation, he was instrumental in establishing the materials and boat divisions of the Group and has significantly contributed to the development of a majority of the products currently in production.
A national award winner for successful productionising of a technology-based product – silica tiles, under his leadership, the Group has forged prestigious partnerships, including collaborations with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), through which the company holds exclusive licensing to manufacture multiple specialised products.
Nitin Valeth serves as the Managing Director of the Group, overseeing strategic operations across key business verticals. He leads both the Defence Division and the Materials Division, driving growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
He was instrumental in establishing the Defence Division and is currently in the process of setting up a new facility for the Materials Division, significantly expanding the Group’s product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities. Through his strategic vision, the organisation has developed critical technologies that have enabled its evolution from a component manufacturer to a prime contractor.
He has been directly responsible for building and strengthening partnerships with leading global OEMs and is spearheading the development of a major joint venture project currently in the pipeline.
Ajay Chowdary serves as Director – Strategic Projects, supporting the Group’s leadership in driving key strategic initiatives. In this role, he works closely with the Directors to inform and guide strategic decision-making across the organisation, ensuring alignment with the Group’s long-term vision and growth objectives.
